The first gene that is best suited for growing under artificial light, in the seventies, was a cross between a high production Afghan indica, sativa and a Thai, and was in the city of Seattle, Washington. This new gene, developed and stabilized over the years and created the first race of cannabis designed to produce the maximum possible. It was called Northern Lights "Northern Lights", a term that refers to the Aurora Borealis, and is a gene that has had a tremendous global impact because their crosses have been successfully used by hundreds of thousands of growers worldwide.

The reasons, more production and less time than any of the seeds that were otherwise available. Production high, short stature, power, and few clean sheets, make this variety a good example of quantity and quality. Smell of pine with hints of lemon and black pepper, and strong physical and mental effect, this exceptional genetics, is the fundamental basis of crosses made with haze and skunk in Europe, and is one of the mothers of the widest known to history, "Jack Herer".

Grow with broad leaves, thick, dark, little branches, and tends to concentrate production in the central stem, looks like a typical indica, leaves few, very thick, very dark, very thick stems, too; effect Mixed physical and mental, and predominantly a pleasant sedation regard to drugs.
